Saturday August 2, 2008 - 2nd Annual "Honoring Our Heroes" Run

- On August 2nd, Swain Resort’s will be hosting the 2nd Annual Honoring Our Heroes Motorcycle Ride to benefit the Bath VA Memorial Hospital in Bath New York.  The event will be a 100 mile ride that starts at Swain Resort, heads over to the Bath VA Hospital for a ceremony and 21-gun salute, and returns to Swain for games and food.  Among the games will be the barrel roll, slow ride, Winnie bite, and best bike competition.  100% of the proceeds will be going to benefit the hospital.  For more info call 607-545-6511

Saturday August 2, 2008 - 2nd Annual Run For The Homeless
 

Registration: 11:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast.

Start time:  12:15 p.m. with a 50 mile run throughout Niagara County.  Check points and route map to be announced.

Cost: $20.00 for rider/biker, $10.00 for passenger.

This cost includes free dinner, live music & testimonials from individuals whose lives have been changed, free entertainment, raffle giveaways, awards ceremony and so much more!

Non-bikers! Saturday August 2, 2008 - March of Dimes "Bikers For Babies" Ride 
 
- In 2007, this ride had multiple start sites, in Utica, Oneida, Auburn, Watertown, Cortland, Binghamton, Geneva, Elmira and of course Syracuse.  The largest group starts and ends in Syracuse at the State Fairgrounds.  All other start sites end at the Fairgrounds.

- Riders pay $25 to participate and are encouraged to get pledges.  All riders receive lunch (Dinosaur BBQ) and participant pins.  Premiums (rewards) are given to riders who reach various pledge levels.  Over 1100 riders participated in 2007, and raised over $105,000 for the March of Dimes.  This is the largest event of it's kind in upstate NY, and one of the top 10 largest Bikers for Babies events in the country.

Thursday August 7 - 9, 2008 - Champlain Valley Motorcycle Rally

- The Adirondack Lake Champlain Chapter of American Legion Riders, rides out of American Legion Post 1619 Morrisonville, NY. Our chapter of Legion Riders raises money with rides, for many area charities each year. In 2008, our biggest event will be co-hosting a three day bike event, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds August 7,8,&9. This will be the first year for this event. We are located in a very scenic area on Lake Champlain, surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. It is less than 1 hour from event headquarters to Montreal, Canada, Lake Placid, NY , and Burlington, VT and the Green Mountains. We are just over 2 hours north of Albany, NY
    
The event will include guided rides, bike games, live music, vendors, etc. . For your convenience there is ample room for tent camping with public rest rooms and showers on the Fairgrounds, as well as several food vendors to serve you . There are also full hook up campsites for anyone attending with a camper needing electric, water, and sewer. These campsites are first come, first serve. The Fairgrounds also has multiple large buildings for vendor use. Some spaces individually locked, and others with multiple vendors in a building . - The Syracuse Muscular Dystrophy would like to invite you to its "Ride for Life".  Take a beautiful 60 mile ride for a great cause.  Ride off is 11 a.m. at Performance Harley Davidson on N. Geddes St., Syracuse. Registration is 9 a.m. The ride will end at the Inner Harbor Chick N' Wing Fest where riders can enjoy the MDA VIP Tent sponsored by Limp Lizard. Rider registration is $30. Passengers $20. All bikes are welcome.

A Harley Davidson 2008 Dyna Wide Glide will also be raffled off during the event. Only 2,000 tickets will be sold at $20 each. Tickets can be purchased on line or at Performance Harley Davidson.

- The Cicero American Legion Riders are sponsoring a run to benefit Tom Wrightmire. 

Tom has been battling cancer for many years. Now the costs of Dr. bills, treatments & medications has made life difficult. Lets help bring back the way of life for a simple man. Tom has always been a huge motorcycle enthusiast. Let us have a good showing from his friends, family and fellow riders.

Registration is at 12:45 - 1:15pm.  Leave at 1:15pm.  for a 65 mile scenic ride around Oneida Lake.  Starts and ends at Cicero American Legion Post 787 and is scheduled to end at 5:00pm.
