- International Female Ride Day--a synchronized day, worldwide where women motorcycle riders participate demonstrating their enjoyment of motorcycle riding. The campaign was created with the aim of building female rider awareness while simultaneously encouraging other women to take up the activity. The event places a spotlight on women who ride, celebrating the many numbers who do--some for a short time and others their entire lifetime!

- Media call for motorcycles out at Darien Lake to unveil the new Motorcoaster.  They are looking to get at least 100 motorcycles out there to promote the new roller coaster sponsored by Orange County Choppers. The Teutuls — followed by camera crews from The Learning Channel — will be on hand May 16 for the coaster’s grand opening, signing autographs and posing for photos.

During their visit, the Teutuls will drum up ideas for a coaster-themed motorcycle, which they will design and build for an episode of “American Chopper.” Different media groups are scheduled to be covering this and The Orange County guys are going to be there and free bbq lunch and admission to the park for rider and guest for all that show up. We’re going to be dedicating our Ride To Remember to Sgt. James Hackemer.  Sgt. Hackemer was critically injured in Iraq on March 14, 2008 when the vehicle he was in hit a roadside bomb.  As a result, he has lost both his legs and suffered a traumatic brain injury. 

Sgt. Hackemer and his young family, wife Alycia, daughter Kaelynn and newborn Addison reside just a around the corner from the dealership.  Many of us here went to school with him and his family.  Spearheaded by our owner, John Reid, we hope to take up a collection before we depart, then bring the parade past their house.  In our own humbling way, we simply want to reach out and let them know they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Military veterans can receive free counseling and assistance with their government benefits when a Disabled American Veterans Mobile Service Office rolls into the Hollywood Happening in Gowanda, New York. The Gowanda visit is part of the Harley's Heroes tour to 150 Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country.

The mission of the Harley's Heroes tour, made possible by a $1 million grant from the Harley-Davidson Foundation, is to provide access to benefits for all veterans and show appreciation for their service. The mobile service office will provide benefits counseling to veterans who suffer from service-connected injuries but may never have filed a claim for benefits or have found it difficult working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Saturday May 31, 2008 - Gowanda Moose Riders Charity Motorcycle Run

- The Moose Riders, a new unit of Gowanda Moose Lodge members who share a common interest in motorcycling, will host the First Annual Motorcycle Charity Ride during the 10th Annual Hollywood Happening. 50 percent of all proceeds from the annual Motorcycle Charity Ride will always go toward Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The remaining 50 percent will be split equally between the Hollywood Theater and the New York chapter of Mooseheart, a coeducational home and school for children. Those who wish to ride will be able to register for $25 per bike.

Registration will be held 10 a.m.-noon on the day of the run for bikes, pre-registration is available at the Gowanda Moose Lodge. Run begins at 12:30 pm and follows a scenic 110-mile route through Chautauqua County with three stops. For more info call 716-532-8826 or 716-934-7101.

Ride departs at 12 noon on a  breath taking route that winds through Genesee and Wyoming Counties with 5 pre-set scenic locations.
